Tens of thousands of sea creatures have washed up along the Yorkshire Coast due to the severe weathe
Crabs, starfish, mussels and lobsters are ankle-deep in places along the Yorkshire Coast, most of the animals are now dead – except for lobsters. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Living Seas team have been working alongside local fisherman rescuing the lobsters that are still alive - gathering them in buckets and taking them to tanks in Bridlington for care - putting them back in the sea.
Such a sad sight, when nature dies we remember what we take for granted. The occurrence has been put down to a drop in temperatures coupled with the rough seas. Scarborough, the sandy beaches gone, full of pebbles.
