Hazel is a self taught artist who started to paint late in life, her first love was poetry. Hazel has reached the age of 80 and is painting and still writing poetry. Her art work has a natural style that can only be described as unique and humorous.
Contemporary folk artists are frequently self-taught characterized by a naïve style, in which traditional rules of proportion and perspective are not employed.Characteristically folk art is not influenced by art movements. Naïve art is recognized, and often imitated, for its childlike simplicity and frankness. I believe Picasso said “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a life time to paint like a child.”
A great addition to any enviroment that needs brightening up.
Guaranteed to raise a smile !
Commissions excepted, the result is with the universe.
If any health institution would like an exhibition of Hazels work to display on their walls for a period of time, to cheer the enviroment up, please get in touch.
